| In
a study of heat-sealing of polyethylenes, the
T-peel fractured surfaces of bonded films of ethylene/1-octene
copolymers with different 1-octene contents were
characterized using Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM)
and analyzed by fractal analysis. The AFM images
gave visual evidence of a strong dependence on
bonding temperature, peel rate, and 1-octene content.
This dependence was demonstrated quantitatively
by fractal analyses. This presentation elucidates
the full details of this study.
