Key Drivers in Metal to Polymer Replacement in Water Management

Abstract

After a brief introduction of Radici Group and Radici High Performance Polymers division, we will take a deep dive in describing the key drivers in metal to high performance polymers replacement in water management systems. Polymers provide numerous solutions for ensuring water sustainability, from the pipes used in water transportation, through irrigation drippers, reservoirs and greenhouses enabling agricultural water supply, to water treatment and distribution, plumbing, sanitary, and small appliances providing access to safe drinking water. The increasing use of polymers in water management systems contributes to increasing efficiency of these systems due to significant reduction of infrastructure cradle to gate footprint, lower system & maintenance costs and easier handling as well as meeting the global lead restrictions in drinking water. Polymers material performance, compliance to drinking water contact approval agencies and advanced computer aided engineering capabilities, are a key factor to achieve a robust part and system design that meets the demanding and numerous water management application requirements. Some successful Radici HHP metal-to-polymer case histories will be also described.
